Global Roles

Every user has one tenant-wide role, set in Settings: Admin, Manager, or Member. This is separate from — and works alongside — your board-specific and campaign-specific roles, covered in Board Roles and Campaign Roles. Your global role controls app-wide capabilities that aren’t tied to any single board or campaign.

What each role can do

  • Admin — full access everywhere. Admins are automatically treated as an owner on every board, regardless of whether they’ve been added to it directly. Only admins can create new tenant users, create new boards, and permanently delete items from the trash.
  • Manager — elevated access, but narrower than admin. Managers can create boards and, in many cases, act with board-owner-level permissions even without being explicitly added to a board — though this can vary depending on the specific action you’re taking.
  • Member — the baseline role. Your access to any given board or campaign depends entirely on the role you’ve been assigned there — being a member of the organization doesn’t grant you access to boards or campaigns you haven’t been added to.

Contacts and Campaigns permissions

What you can do in Contacts and Campaigns lines up with what the interface shows you — a Member sees exactly the actions available to them, and a Manager sees exactly the actions available at that level. See Contacts and Campaign Roles for the specifics.
